Infrastructure development is the engine driving national economic growth, which not only provides direct stimulation but also a multiplier effect. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the construction sector's contribution to our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) continues to increase, with an average growth rate of 5% per year and an average contribution of 10.6% to the national GDP.
The dynamics of the construction sector always exceed national economic growth. In 2018, this sector grew by 6.09%, while national economic growth was only 5.01%. This positive trend continued in 2019 with the construction sector growing by 5.76%, surpassing national economic growth of 5.02%. With this significant contribution, the construction sector is now the fourth-largest contributor to GDP, following the trade and agricultural sectors.
Considering this strategic role, it is crucial that the construction sector is managed, nurtured, regulated, and empowered seriously and structurally. To support these efforts, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is proud to organize Konstruksi Indonesia 2023. This is an important event for the government, private sector, academics, practitioners, and society to interact, exchange information, and add value to the world of construction services.
Konstruksi Indonesia 2023, held on November 1 - 3, 2023 at the Jakarta International Expo (Ji Expo) Kemayoran, has been an annual agenda of the Ministry of PUPR since 2003. Entering its 20th year, this year's Konstruksi Indonesia focuses on "Accelerating the Digital Transformation of the Construction Sector to Realize Sustainable Infrastructure Development". We hope to prepare the construction services community for digital transformation and environmentally friendly sustainable infrastructure development.
